Meet Our Executive Chef

Luiz Jacob

Chef Luiz Jacob comes to us with over 17 years of professional culinary experience. Born and raised in Brazil and surrounded by the love of food from a young age, Luiz started cooking at just 12-years-old. He went on to graduate from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, and worked under highly accoladed chefs and restaurants. After he mastered his skills in NYC he attended an innovative and modern culinary school in Italy where he honed in on both classic and modern cooking techniques. After spending time working in the Caribbean, he returned to Brazil as head chef of an award-winning restaurant. In 2016, he was a contestant on the first season of MasterChef Professionals Brazil and became recognized as one of the strongest chefs in the competition.

Chef Luiz Jacob brings a modern approach to classic favorites at Jetty Bar & Grille with dishes that pay homage to the Pacific Northwest while also exhibiting flavors inspired by his upbringing in Brazil and advanced training in French-Italian techniques.
